Smile design is one of the applications performed to ensure that individuals with impaired dental aesthetics have a more aesthetic appearance. Nowadays, dental health and oral hygiene, as well as the appearance of the teeth, have gained importance. In terms of oral health, bad breath, tooth loss and cavities can be seen as major problems. Improper oral and dental care, external factors, gum problems and genetic factors can lead to problems with a person’s smile, causing them to feel psychologically insecure. Smile Design, is one of the aesthetic dentistry applications.
If the aesthetic appearance of the teeth has deteriorated for various reasons, it is aimed to achieve a more natural and beautiful appearance by taking into account factors such as the person’s expectations and facial structure. Smile design means designing the position of teeth, jaw and lips in accordance with the jaw structure, mouth and facial features of the person.
Why is Smile Design Is Tailor-Designed for the Person?
Each individual’s facial structure and mouth structure are different, so smile design is personalized. Since the factors mentioned above, such as lips, teeth, smile line and chin, determine the smile and oral structure of the person, it is necessary to make a personalized design.
The human face is not symmetrical, which is why hairdressers treat the face in two separate structures when cutting and shaving hair. The smile design is based on the same principle. Because when a person smiles, the left side of the face may be in a different position from the right side. Therefore, smile design is not a standardized treatment, but a series of personalized procedures that are applied together.

Smile design prices are determined by factors such as the parameters evaluated, the procedures to be performed, the patient’s expectations and needs, so they are specific to each person. Smile design treatments require a detailed planning process to achieve the targeted image with the person’s bone, face and mouth structure.
Solving the problems in the teeth and mouth structure is an important step to be completed before moving on to the design phase. When the health status of the teeth is made suitable for aesthetic touches, a treatment plan for smile design is created. Since the factors that determine this plan vary from person to person, prices are also determined individually.
How many days does smile design take ?
When discoloration or structure loss occurs in teeth, one of the preferred coating methods to achieve an aesthetic appearance is zirconium coating.
If no additional treatment is required for the aesthetic smile called “Hollywood smile” (such as implants, orthodontics, gum treatment, whitening), the patient is first given a smile design and the ideal smile is determined. This is a process that takes place in 2 sessions. After taking photos, videos and intraoral measurements from the patient, it takes about 4-5 days to prepare the smile design.

Temporary dental prosthesis options are applied to patients until permanent dentures are installed. It is a procedure that aims to prevent the pain of the extracted teeth and to continue the patient’s routine life comfortably until the new permanent prosthesis arrives, both socially and functionally. In order not to interrupt the eating and drinking processes, temporary prostheses are applied by the specialist dentist in accordance with the patient’s oral structure.
