What is the All on Four/All on Six Implant Technique?

In cases of bone deficiency in the posterior regions, it is possible to make fixed prostheses without the need for advanced surgeries by using implants placed at an angle with the All on four/six technique. With this technique, it is possible to make implants on the same day the teeth are extracted, and in edentulous patients, implants can be made and fixed prosthesis can be made on the same day.

Under what conditions is it applicable?

  • In completely edentulous jaws, if there is sufficient bone quantity and density in the area between the premolars
  • Facilities for good cleaning of extraction sockets if teeth are to be extracted
  • If the oral hygiene is brought to a good level before tooth extraction,
  • If the dentist has sufficient knowledge and experience in this regard
  • If there is a laboratory with the knowledge and equipment to make a temporary fixed prosthesis to be made immediately

How is the All on 4/6 method applied?

  • 6 implants are placed in the upper jaw and 4-6 implants in the lower jaw.
  • The long-term temporary fixed bridge is screwed onto the implants on the same day.
  • After a minimum of 3 months, the permanent fixed prosthesis will be replaced by a long-term temporary screw-retained bridge prosthesis

What should be done after the all on four/six implant technique?

Patients should take their medication regularly and avoid eating hot food for a few days. Dental implant patients with All on 4/6 should not eat hard foods under any circumstances during the temporary prosthesis period. Patients should definitely be on a soft food diet. This is to reduce the load on the dental implants. After 3 months, they can start normal food consumption with permanent prostheses.
